Cee’s Share Your World

From Cee’s Share Your World

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

There are times I think I am a very old woman and times I feel like a wee lass.  I don’t know that our souls are so easy to limit by such a number.

So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your apartment/house?

giphyYes, but I am not sure I can remember the last time it was opened. I would hesitate to open it now because spiders. It is spider season and now everything is suspect. My husband has gotten used to hearing me say, no matter the object, “Shake it out for spiders!”

I once lived where you could find scorpions and spiders in your shoes or oven mitt. It just became a habit to shake everything out and inspect it before use.  But, still…spiders.

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending with quiet time alone?

I absolutely have to have time alone in order to keep my wits about me. One reason I love getting on the elliptical daily is for the ‘away’ time. Just me and the headphones with either music or some indulgence on Netflix. I generally gravitate toward documentaries, but I recently glued myself to the People vs OJ Simpson mini-series.

Name three things you and your spouse, partner or best friend  to have in common.

My husband and I share the same eclectic taste in music from many, many genres. We also share a sense of humor and the same set of values. We are two very silly peas in a pod who once wore matching Chuck’s (both pairs are buried in the closet somewhere). We kind of dig each other  a little.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

giphy (1).gifLast weekend I had the house to myself! I had not had a quiet house alone in a very, very long time despite my regular cravings for solitude in order to recharge. My husband took the kids to see family and I used the time to get some things done that required my attention without distraction. I enjoyed the quite time alone, but by the end of 48 hours I decided the house was jut too quiet without my people.

This week I am celebrating another birthday on this planet, but I have no plans. And, that is okay with me. I just want time with my family, enjoying the moments as they come.

  1. May you have a wonderful birthday! I loved reading these things about you. If I had to answer that first questions about how old I would be…..that would be hard and I have a feeling my answer would mirror yours. I also share your feeling on spiders!

    1. My grandmother was the queen of umbrellas. She used to have dainty purse-sized ones, some in the trunk of the car, some right by her front door, and a few in the closets. If you needed an umbrella, she had you covered. Our weather can be moody and unpredictable, too.

  2. Happy birthday! Just celebrated mine recently… by getting bifocals. Well, they are technically progressive lenses, but there’s that. And I agree on spiders. I have squashed too many black widows and brown recluses in the last few years to pick anything up without first tipping it over with a long stick…

    1. I’ve noticed my eyes are changing and I think bifocals are not far off for me. I have always been very nearsighted, but my farsightedness seems to be diminishing! Well, here’s to middle age, the in-between! Happy Birthday to us! 😀

  3. Great Word. When we are with Christ, we have peace. So if we live in and by His Spirit we have the indescribable peace from God that comforts us while we live in a world that is not at peace with the Creator.

  4. Someone once told me that the universe is infinitely large and infinitely small at the same time.
That same someone also said as children of God we are infinitely old and infinitely you as well.
Jesus said he knew us before the foundations of the earth were settled while we were still in the fathers bosom and also said that the Kingdom of God is within us if in fact it is. AMEN

  5. This is so human.
Th opening is quite relevant to some of us that are passing that mid-point in age. One day, I feel like I accelerated to about 80 years old. But, when I talk with old friends, I briefly forget that I am 55 and think I am 18, again. Then, I get up from where I am sitting, only to realize that 18 was quite a while ago.

  6. I used to be shocked that I was in my 40s, but now that I’m 50 I want to be 50. It looks however it looks and feels however it feels. People always say I look so much younger but I honestly don’t know what 50 is ‘supposed’ to look like. lol I’m just me. But if I had to put a age to it, I’d say that I still feel like I’m in my early 30’s.

  7. 🎉Happy birthday! 🎊 Haha, I’m the same way about spiders. I don’t mind looking at them or taking photos of them, but I don’t want them in my stuff! Last week, I found one in my slipper. I am so thankful I saw him before I put my foot in there with him! 😱

      1. Haha! 😀 I actually brought the slipper outside, hit it against the ground to get him him out, and let him go free. XD (I know, I’m crazy. 😂) I definitely look twice before putting them on now!
